Our Story

When the US-built Zen Habitats brand joined forces with the UK's Peregrine Livefoods, ZenPro Pets was born — a unified company dedicated to bringing four incredible reptile brands under one roof.

It started with a bearded dragon named Chi. When Heidi and Randy brought him home, they quickly noticed something was wrong. His enclosure was too small, the glass reflected his own image back at him, heat escaped constantly, and the top-opening design triggered his instinct to watch for aerial predators. They searched everywhere for a better option; a spacious, wooden, front-opening enclosure, and came up empty. So they built one themselves. Then they built more, knowing other reptile owners were facing the same problem. That was the beginning of Zen Habitats.

For years, Zen Habitats grew into one of the most trusted names in reptile enclosures in the United States, built on a foundation of genuine care for animals and the people who keep them. The mission was always the same: raise the standard of reptile care through better products and real expertise.

In 2026, that mission expanded. Peregrine Livefoods — Europe's largest reptile product manufacturer and distributor, supplying over 3,000 products to hundreds of shops every week — merged with Zen Habitats and launched ZenPro Pets as its unified U.S. presence. The original Zen Habitats team remains fully in place, and the enclosures that built the brand's reputation aren't going anywhere. What's new is the scale of what's now possible.
